Found this very sophisticated tortoise yesterday and I could not help turning it into something wearable. It's hard to say what the material is yet I believe it is handcrafted. The baby tortoise is slightly turnable. 
Tortoise is a symbol of long life and endurance. It's steady movement represents wisdom and stability. 
The black pin base is also sourced in Kyoto, measures 9cm long.
